Green chromium-bearing spodumene from North Carolina. True hiddenite (Cr-colored) is very rare; most commercial material sold as 'hiddenite' is iron-colored pale green spodumene or irradiated yellow spodumene. Related gem: kunzite (pink/lilac spodumene).
